WSC is devoted to diverse
projects around the single theme of creating a sustainable human society
in a sustainable natural environment.
- Mined-Lands Restoration:
Land use conversion of 90,000+acre mining property adjacent to Salt
Lake City, including 'New Urbanist', mixed-use, transit-oriented,
walkable communities to absorb a major proportion of future growth
in Utah's population center, the Wasatch Front Region.
Climate-appropriate planting, and an on-site nursery to propagate
native plant species appropriate to this immense site, received a
Governor's Award to the land development company in 2003. (Images)
Paper entitled 'Actualizing Sustainable Mining' further developed
themes of the integration of natural and economic restoration
through Eco-Industrial practices focused on a mine waste,
contaminated site as the mine approaches closure
- China, Eco-Industrial
Park and Eco-Planning, Dalian Economic and Technical Development
Zone and Dalian City, People's Republic of China. Proposed an
